You can earn points in the Student Community platform, which are rewarded automatically through participation and engagement. Points exist to encourage peer-to-peer communication, social learning, and support and sharing of information relevant to the programme. But they're mostly there for fun.
We’ve detailed everything you need to know about the points below.
Essentially, you earn points by engaging with the community. You can earn points each week, which are then added to your overall community points. To see where and how you’ve gained points, visit the My Participation section within the community.
The points you earn vary depending on the activity. We’ve listed the points system for you in the table below:
Point Earning Rule |
Points |
Creating a new post with a minimum of 40 words |
280 |
Commenting on another user's post with a minimum of 20 words |
210 |
Receiving a comment from another user |
70 |
Receiving a reaction from another user |
55 |
You can also receive accolades from the course team and others. These are to highlight significantly insightful posts, verified answers, and thoughtful responses, along with a few additional actions. All of this information can be viewed in the My Participation, and the How to earn points sections.
While points and accolades do not count towards your grade, they will be used to indicate and highlight a lack of participation and engagement in areas of the programme. This is important to ensure each individual is receiving support where and when required.
